I want to participate because I’m aware of the hard work and effort that goes into running Ozanam House.  This is a great opportunity to become involved in raising some much-needed funds for a very worthwhile charity.  I am excited to be involved as I have a passion for dancing and I look forward to learning some new steps!

Krishna

Well! I think I have the Strictly bug as I have done a few before! I would really love to dance all formats. Tango – tick, Bollywood-tick…so what’s next? I would like to take up the next challenge and live up to it. And of course, it is for a very worthy cause in this great Resource centre who do so much for the community. Believe me, you will all have a cracking night.

Kirsty

My Name is Kirsty Farrell and I am a trainee solicitor in Eversheds Sutherland law firm. I am excited to be taking part in the Ozanam Come Dancing 2019 event as Ozanam House do amazing work in my local community and I would love to do my bit to help as best I can. The support and encouragement Ozanam House provide to those who need it the most is commendable and deserves as much funding as possible. My Partner Tim and I are looking forward to taking part in this exciting (and scary) challenge and hopefully we don’t embarrass ourselves too much!

Tim

My name is Tim Ryan and I am a solicitor in Eversheds Sutherland law firm. I am delighted to be taking part in such a great cause for an organisation such as Ozanam House which carries out such great work in its community. It’s great to have events such as this to raise awareness and much needed support to continue this great work while having a bit of fun along the way. I might even pick up a few dance skills, if my partner Kirsty doesn’t kill me along the way with my two left feet.

Helena and Michael

Dance; Charleston

Music; “Rock It For Me” by Caravan Palace

Helena

My name is Helena O’Toole and I am 27 years old. I have wanted to volunteer for a charitable cause for a while now and Ozanam Come Dancing is the perfect fit.  Ozanam House does fantastic work in the community and give people the support, encouragement and help they need to build a better future at a time when finances are tough for many, many families. I want to help by being a small cog in the fantastic machine that is Ozanam House by raising money for a wonderful organisation. I am also a little clumsy so if I fall on the stage…. at least I will provide entertainment on the night!

Michael

My names Michael Gibney, I’m 26 years old and from Lucan in Dublin. I got involved in Ozanam Come Dancing through a lovely lady called Kim who currently works in Ozanam House. After attending the induction night, I felt like this was my time to give back and do something for such an amazing place. I took part in a strictly come dancing back in 2015 and it was the most rewarding amazing experience, dancing the jive and taking home the trophy, so I’ve a little experience behind me. I’m really looking forward to getting into my dance classes and trying my best to raise much-needed funds for Ozanam House.

Jaqueline

I work within St Vincent de Paul as a manager of the Vincent’s charity shop in Malahide. I have worked within the organisation for over six years. I have always thought of myself as someone who loves a challenge, now I can put this to the test. As I have previously worked as a youth worker I know the importance of the work Ozanam House does. Every child deserves an opportunity to create good memories, and this is what this centre does. I just hope I can remember the steps!

Jordi

I work in the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul as a shop manager in Crumlin. I put myself forward for this great event because It is for a good cause to raise money for the organization, and to help people in need. I like to dance, even if I dance like a dizzy duck! So my biggest fear is falling off the stage!

Tereza and Graham

Dance; Argentine Tango

Music; “Buenos Aires Underground” by José Rendon Santana

Graham

I am a Real Estate Associate at McCann FitzGerald and looking forward to dusting off my dance shoes in support of Ozanam House. The Ozanam Come Dancing alumni at McCann FitzGerald have nothing but good things to say about the process and so I just had to get involved. I hope to raise as much money as possible and put on a good (hopefully injury free) show for the audience.

Tereza

I am a solicitor in McCann FitzGerald who have been a big supporter of Ozanam Come Dancing for many years. I love to dance so it didn’t take (that!) much to convince me to take part in the 2019 event. And even though the thought of performing live is daunting, any doubts I might have had dissipated when I met Tony and the Ozanam House team – their enthusiasm for their work is infectious. It is a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful fundraising effort, one well worth overcoming a little stage fright for!

Dance; Jive

Music; “Wake Me Up Before You Go” by Wham

Gerard

My name is Gerard Hegarty and I am representing AIB in this year’s Ozanam Come Dancing Event and I cannot wait. The reason I got involved in this event is because I wanted to do some sort of fundraising but I didn’t know what.  I know people that work closely with Saint Vincent De Paul so I am very familiar with the great work that they do and I knew this was the charity I wanted to be involved in. The opportunity to participate in Ozanam Come Dancing arose and I found it too good not to. Great way to have some fun and raise some much-needed funds in the process.

Tori

My name is Tori Mooney, and I work in AIB. I heard about Ozanam Come Dancing from AIB’s involvement last year and knew it was something that I would love to be a part of! I would have had years of experience dancing when I was younger but after a year or two of not training I thought now was a good time to throw myself back in the mix and all for a good cause! I hope this year to make a difference and help raise as much as I can to help support Ozanam House in the great work that they do.
