The Men’s Group visited the Gate Theatre for a tour of the venue.
Our guide, Community Engagement Manager John Taite showed around and told us the history of the Theatre. We also heard about the programmes they run for youths and for the local community and schools, getting people to engage and rediscover going out to watch a play.
We had a tour of backstage and the auditorium which laid in the more unusual Traverse style with the stage being in the centre and the audience on both sides, being able to see across the stage at each other.

We are grateful for the kindness they have shown over many years and wish to thank them for their continued generosity.
The Tesco Community Fund was launched in July 2014, to support local good causes in the communities around each of our 176 stores throughout Ireland. Every 12 weeks, each Tesco store donates up to €2,000 between three local good causes in its community.
The ARG Group were invited for a tour of Leinster House by Neasa Hourigan. The Group were greeted by 2 Oireachtas Guides who guided us through the full history of Leinster House and its historical ownership.
Included in the tour was a visit to the Oireachtas Viewing Gallery. The Guide explained to the Group where the elected Government seats are situated. He then showed the group where the Opposition seats are in relation to this.
The Group also visited the Seanad. An explanation of the rules and regulations of the Seanad was provided as well as its guiding principles. Our Guide also told the Group how members are elected to the Seanad.
The tour also included a viewing gallery of portraits of past Taoisigh. On a separate wall a selection of portraits of influential women have recently been included.
To finish the tour the Group were invited to a cup of tea in the Dail coffee shop by Neasa. A thoroughly enjoyable tour was had by all.
