Champions League with the Mens Group

This week we commenced Walking Football sessions on Tuesday in Ballybough Community Centre. 8 of the men took part and had great fun while also being active. Their positive experience and feedback has encouraged some of the other members to join them next week. We’d like to say a huge thanks to Fergal Scally, Sports Officer from Dublin City Council for arranging the sessions.
Thursday was less active with some of the guys taking part in the weekly cookery class. On the menu this week was Chicken Caesar Salad which was delicious!

Men’s Group Trip to Casement Aerodrome

On Thursday we had our first group of 2017 when we headed out to Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, which is a national army air base. We had an excellent guide who brought us to the hangers and the guys were very impressed to be allowed into some of the aircraft and helicopters. We also had time to browse the impressive museum which houses lots of old aircraft and memorabilia from times past.

Following the 2 hour tour we went to An Poitin Stil restaurant on the in Rathcoole for a delicious meal which was served up by some very courteous staff. Thanks to our volunteers Noreen, Gerry and Tom who came on the trip and helped make it a great day for all.
