One of our volunteers, Noreen, recently trained as a gentle exercise facilitator with Age & Opportunity Ireland. She commenced classes with some of the the group this week. The guys really enjoyed it and had some fun while limbering up.
Mens Group Visit to Leinster House
Last Thursday, some of the group visited Leinster House and, thanks to Minister Paschal Donohue TD, were given a guided tour of the Dail and Seanad. After the tour the group were invited to the bar and given complimentary refreshments which were very much appreciated.
Following the visit to Leinster House, the group did a tour of the Rock & Roll Museum in Temple Bar with some of the guys managing to get a jamming session in which was great fun.
We would like to thank Dublin Bus for kindly providing the transport for us to our venues.
It’s been a busy week at the Mens Group this Easter.
We packed a lot into the last few days .
In our Cookery Class we made delicious hot cross buns.
Samaritan Outreach Volunteers Ann & Patrickcame in to visit us and gave a very informative presentation on their work and facilitated a group discussion about looking after our mental health.
We were all presented with Easter Eggs too. Thanks Ozanam House!
Samaritans Presentation on Thursday
Easter Eggs are always a welcome treat!
Sadly, we lost one of our members this week with the passing of John Sheekey (RIP).
John was a popular guy in the group and was always up for having fun. He always had a smile on his face.
We will miss you John and hope that you are smiling down on us all here.
