Alison Hello, I am Alison, this is my first involvement with Ozanam House.
I’m a Team Leader in Tesco, where I’ve worked for over fifteen years. I’ve worked on several departments with copious amount of customer service skills. I also work with the Community Fund and help support local community causes through this.
I’ve no dance experience other than a few months of Irish Dancing when I was very young! I recently completed a Poundfit Pro course and teach the odd track with Carla Roberts. Poundfit is amazing and is a mix of Pilates and Cardio Jam using lightly weight drumsticks. I got involved with Ozanam Come Dancing because a friend from Collective Fitness suggested it to me and the rest is history!
I hope to give back to the community. I’m a volunteer for the Scouts and it’s so rewarding seeing the joy in children’s faces. I can only imagine how much Ozanam House gives back to the community. The cherry on top is learning how to dance and have fun!
My biggest fear is not being able to pick up the dance, I can be a jinx so say a prayer for me that I don’t injure myself between now and showtime!!
Sandra Hi! My name is Sandra and I became interested in Ozanam House through my work colleague Niamh. I love dancing, although I would consider myself an amateur. I am an advocate for Social Justice! So, it was a no brainer! I am so excited to be part of Ozanam House Strictly Come Dancing 2022; we’ll dance, have plenty of craic and raise money for a fantastic organisation.

I worked as a volunteer with SVP years ago and became aware of Ozanam House and the brilliant programmes they offer. Our friends signed up for OCD and got us involved. I work in the area of Climate Education, helping businesses become more environmentally sustainable. I love dancing at parties and had to resort to dancing in the kitchen during Covid but we’ve never danced properly as a couple, even at our wedding. I hope to raise lots of funds for Ozanam House and surprise our family and friends with a knock out Charleston dance. Our friends who introduced us are extremely competitive but the fear of losing to them will spur us on!!

My wife press ganged me into taking part to be honest. I’m delighted to be able to raise funds for Ozanam House and have a bit of craic along the way. When it comes to dancing, I’m no Fred Astaire. I did like a slow dance back in the day and dabbled in Irish Dancing as a young lad in Kildare. I’m an Engineer with Bord Gas Networks, my colleagues in work will be surprised to hear of this endeavour. We chose to learn the Charleston as it evoked fond memories of the dance scene in “It’s a Wonderful Life”, a movie we watch every Christmas with our daughters. I just hope that we don’t let them down:)

Moninne Moninne is a Pharmacist working for Children’s Health Ireland. She heard about the great work of Ozanam House through her husband Conor, whose colleague Niamh works in the centre. Moninne’s dancing experience largely involves strutting her stuff at the odd nightclub back in the day, and enthusiastic participation in Line Dancing lessons in the Noughties. She is looking forward to expanding her repertoire and raising a few quid for this great cause in the process!
Conor Conor is a Teacher in Mount Temple Comprehensive School on the Malahide Road. Up to this point, his only dancing dream was to waltz through the Shamrock Rovers defence at Dalymount. He’s had plenty of dancing nightmares, including falling over in front of his classmates during Irish Dancing lessons in primary school. With the help of his lovely wife, Moninne, he hopes to leave such devastating trauma behind him on the night!

Halpenny Golf with stores in Carrckmines, Drogheda, Lucan, Swords and a driving range beside the Airport at Cloghran have generously given their support to us for this event, as they have kindly done in previous years.
Ozanam Come Dancing would not take place as an event without the hard work and generosity of these companies that support us. Thank you!
Hi, my name is Sandra and together with my husband Noel we are delighted to take part in OCD for Saint Vincent de Paul. We heard about the Centre through a friend of ours who has been teaching the dance routines for OCD for the last few years. I have dance experience as I danced Ballroom & Latin Dance from a young age, and myself and my husband have taken part in other Strictly Come Dancing fundraisers for other local charities. Having visited the Centre and seen the amazing work they do for every age group, we are delighted to raise much needed funds for them. Here’s to a fantastic night!

Ozanam Come Dancing would like to introduce Adam and Ekka (sponsored by Dance World) who will be competing in Ozanam Come Dancing taking place on 18th November in Liberty Hall.
Hi, we are Adam and Ekka. We’ve been living in Dublin 1 for the last 12 years and are enthusiastic supporters of Ozanam House. Our kids love attending the youth services in the Centre and have done Sports, Guitar, Piano and Summer Camps with the amazing staff of Ozanam House.
We’ve both grown up in Israel, attended the same high school and married shortly after graduating. We lived in China and London and love travelling with our kids. Adam trained as a Pastry Chef, but changed careers a few years ago and works as a Product Support Manager for Google and Ekka is an Interior Designer by education and volunteered with a local charity shop and local organisations.
Our dancing experience is squeaky to say the least. We’ve danced a choreographed dance at our wedding, but that was many years ago. And on the few dance classes we took we mostly ended up stepping on each other’s toes. Nonetheless, we are super excited to take part in this project and hope to raise plenty of funds for Ozanam House and the great activities that it holds.
